The RZ1 Auxiliary Input Accessory includes a dedicated ignition input (I-IN-2, Orange) that allows the RZ1 to detect when the vehicle ignition is turned ON or OFF. This signal is used for trip identification, event correlation, and reporting accuracy.
Purpose
- Enable automatic trip start/stop based on ignition status.
- Monitor true engine runtime.
- Improve accuracy of event detection tied to ignition.
How It Works
The ignition input monitors voltage from a circuit that is powered only when the key is in the ON position.
-
LOW = ignition OFF (no voltage)
-
HIGH = ignition ON (9–24V detected)
When ignition voltage is detected, the RZ1 marks ignition as ON, enabling accurate trip tracking and association with vehicle activity and safety events.
