Safety Due Days Settings

Safety Due Days sets how long each type of coaching task has before it becomes overdue. The due date is calculated when the task is created, by adding the number of days configured for that coaching type.

Fields

Face-to-Face Due Days Days allowed to complete a face-to-face coaching session. Default: 7.
Self-Coaching Due Days Days allowed for the driver to complete self-coaching. Default: 7.
Remote-Coaching Due Days Days allowed to complete a remote coaching session. Default: 7.
FYI-Notify Due Days Days before an FYI Notify task is marked overdue. Default: 14.
Collision Due Days Days allowed to review a collision task. Default: 3.

Each field accepts a whole number of days from 1 to 365. All five fields are required – clearing any one of them disables Save.

How to Change the Due Days

  1. Go to Driver Safety > Settings > Safety Due Days.
  2. Update the values you want to change. The fields are pre-filled with the current values.
  3. Click Save.

A change applies to new tasks only. Tasks that already exist keep the due date they were given when they were created. One exception: using Move to FYI on a task recalculates its due date using the FYI Notify value.

Where the Due Date Appears

  • On task cards, as the Overdue Date field and, once passed, as a red Overdue badge showing the number of days.
  • In the Open Tasks Report, in the overdue count and average overdue days per coaching type.
  • On the Driver Safety Dashboard, in the overdue sub-line under the Due For Coaching counter.
  • In the Program Status Report, as the Overdue for Coaching percentage per group.

Choosing Values

  • Windows that are too short produce a high overdue percentage that makes the reports harder to act on.
  • Windows that are too long delay coaching, which tends to reduce its effect. Avg Days to Coach on the Coaches Report is a useful check.
  • Self-coaching deadlines interact with escalation. If self-coaching is not completed within its configured deadline, the task can escalate to a face-to-face session – read the article Coaching Workflow Settings.
