Coaching Effectiveness is a percentage that indicates how often a coached behavior did not recur. It appears on the Coaches Report, the Coach Profile, the Program Status Report, and the Driver Safety Dashboard.
How It Is Calculated
Each behavior coached in a session is measured separately:
- A coached behavior counts as effective when the same driver has no further event of that behavior within 30 days of the session.
- It counts as repeated when a further event of that behavior does occur within those 30 days.
Coaching Effectiveness is then:
Coaching Effectiveness = effective ÷ (effective + repeated) × 100
Example
A coach completes 4 sessions covering 10 behaviors in total. Seven of those behaviors do not recur within 30 days and three do. Coaching Effectiveness is 7 ÷ 10 × 100 = 70.0%.
Why Recent Sessions Are Excluded
A behavior needs a full 30 days of observation before it can be judged. Sessions completed in the last 30 days of the selected reporting period are therefore not counted, because there has not been enough time to see whether the behavior recurred.
Note
If you select a date range shorter than about 30 days, Coaching Effectiveness
may show a dash for coaches whose sessions all fall inside the observation
window. Widen the date range to see a measurable value.
